DJ Funkaholic has been on a mission for the groove for almost 20 years now. In his early years, his parents put his first turntable and his first piece of hippie rock vinyl into his hands. At the tender age of 16, he finally began collecting rarer vinyl records. Over time, he increasingly discovered his love for old-school deep funk, soul, and jazz.

Among other things, he played the opening sets for Osaka Monaurail, warmed up the 3Raum at Ballhof for the US funk legend RAMP from the Roy Ayers circle at the start of their tour, and has played for artists such as Nicole Willis & The Soul Investigators, The New Mastersounds, King Khan & The Shrines, and Rhonda.

Since 2009, Mr. Funkaholic has been hosting his radio show “this is FUNKAHOLIC!”, which now has a permanent slot on the New York–based station The Face Radio Brooklyn, NY.

In the summer of 2020, DJ Funkaholic could also be heard from Hanover’s most famous manhole cover in front of the main train station with his guest mix, which he specially compiled for the city’s summer evenings.
